„Awake“ ist das Tuba-Solo aus der Reihe „Extended melodies for solo instruments“. Ziel des Stückes ist es, die Spielmöglichkeiten des Instrumentes anhand des Themas des Erwachens und Gewecktwerdens zu zeigen. Im Hintergrund steht die Choralmelodie „Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme“. Die Uraufführung wurde am 14.03.2013 durch Cornelius Jacobeit realisiert.
„Awake“ is the Tuba-Solo of the „Extended melodies for solo instruments“. Aim of the piece is, to show the possibilities and playing techniques of the instrument, dealing with the topic awakening. In the background stands the German choral-melody „Wachet auf ruft uns die Stimme“. The premiere played Cornelius Jacobeit on March 14th 2013.
