Description
There are fragments of organ pieces written by Johann Sebastian Bach. A „Fantasia in C“ – only 12 bars long – is the basis of this piano piece. The harmony of the fragment has been enriched and stretched, so that it creates a sound space, out of which the diatonic fragment arises and sinks in a phantastical way – a geometrical object, that breaks the surface of the sea and dissapears again. Aspects of articulation derive from the organ sound, for example: wind - tremolo, valve opening - arpeggio, acoustic of the room - pedalization, soft or metallic sound - materials wood and zinc of the organ pipes. Through an analysing-, scanning and layering process the fragment has been explored, on one hand wonderful music, on the other hand symbol of ceased development, with the corresponding emotions. In an epistemological and structural regard in this case the experience and results of the compositional artistic research process resemble the ones of a gestalttherapeutic oriented traumatherapy.
